Aurora Skys Equestrian Center began as a small farm with a goal to help in the preservation of the elegant Straight Egyptian Arabians. However, we are lovers of all horses, no matter the breed, so we have expanded our interests into Thoroughbreds, American Paints, and Dutch Warmbloods. We have also, recently acquired a Pintaloosa foal, a pair of American Quarter Horses and a pair of Marwari (not on site yet).
We strive to create a safe and loving environment for all of our horses. Each facility has a state of the art vet clinic, stables, exercise equipment and pastures for the horses to roam and play in. All of our farms are located in areas that appropriate for their breed. All horses are treated with love, understanding and a gentle hand. All foals are allowed to roam free with their mothers for the first 6 months, after which they are slowly introduced to halters, leads, and blankets. At one year of age they are introduced to the lunge line and bridles. By the year of two all horses are usually ready to begin competing, however we try to keep the schedule light as to prevent injuries. The only exception to this is the Thoroughbreds, we begin saddle work with them at 18 mos and light workouts with small jockeys so they are ready to hit the track at 2.
